Our weekend get away

Brod and I were able to get away this last weekend and it turned out being one of those dream weekends. The girls had a sleepover at their friend’s house and Brod and I spent the weekend in Orlando. We left Friday morning and had the whole drive just to talk uninterrupted and I loved seeing all of the orange groves on our way. We spent the day in Epcot traveling “the world”. It was so fun because we sampled food from almost every country there! It has been something I’ve wanted to do with Brod ever since we moved here and it was just amazing being able to just hold hands, take our time, and not have a care in the world. (No pun intended) Then Saturday we were able to go to the Orlando temple. It is such a beautiful temple on such beautiful grounds. Once we were inside I was overwhelmed with how happy I was and how at home I felt. Brod and I left feeling uplifted, inspired, and so grateful to have the gospel in our lives and the endless blessings it brings. It was a perfect weekend in every way- I was able to “get away”, bond with my best friend, know that my girls were in such good hands, and come home feeling rejuvenated in every way.

We were so excited to start our day!
Our first stop was in Mexico at a restaurant that we had reservations for 2 weeks ago
It was so good and the atmosphere was so juicy. It felt like it was nighttime with a volcano in the background with a river running around the restaurant.

Enjoying a chocolate crepe in France
Relaxing in Morocco
In Japan I tried my first sushi! I really liked the California roll, but the rest...not so much
Brod was able to get a bratwurst in Germany
In Africa, I found my kind of truck!

In China we had shrimp summer rolls that you dipped in peanut sauce and they were to die for
Getting delicious pastries in Norway :)
By the time it was getting dark we were in Canada
The temple was so gorgeous!

Hey Jess!! Looks like you guys had a blast. I wanted to tell you that your hair looks so cute! Do you like it? I chopped mine off recently to donate to locks of love. Our cuts look super similar!

Man o Man I am jealous. We went to epcot 2 weeks ago and now our family can't stop talking about how we all just want to go back!!! We got French Pastries in france and had fish and chips in England, but that is about it. I want to know how you stay so stinkin skinny eating all that in every country! Glad you and Brody got away...it is so good to do! Your hair looks adorable and you guys are the cutest couple. The Orlando temple looks awesome too! What a fun place to live....especially in FEB!

Hi! What a fun day at Epcot, we went to almost all of those same places, but we had kiddos so not as much fun. To answer your questions, We did a land and sea package, 3 days at The World in a Disney Hotel and 4 days at sea. The Disney Cruise was awesome, and totally catered to families with little kids. There are activities for them round the clock and the great thing was all 3 of my girls were in the same age group together (3-7) plus lots of stuff to do if they didn't want to go to the activities. The pools on the ship were a lot of fun too, but we didn't get to use them too much because it was SO cold that week. The World part included 4 day park hopper passes and we added a meal plan, which was why we dined with all of the characters. Once again a GREAT option for families with young kids because 'till they are 9 they pay a kid price of like $10 a day for all their food. We were more like $50 a day, plus we had to pay gratuities for all 5 of us (baby was free) With that we got 1 table service (character) meal a day plus one quick service and one snack each day. TOTALLY WORTH IT! If you go you have to go to Askshar's in Norway at Epcot, that was the princess one, and it was better than the Castle one because there were a lot more princess's. If you do end up going, call me because I know a lot of great tips on making the best of your vacation and money!!

What a nice getaway. I have been wanting to do that with John since we've lived here. Still trying to figure out how we can. I love the length of your hair also. Something must be in the air cause I cut mine a few weeks ago too.

O.K. Jess. Don't know where to start. Oh yeah the first thing I have to say is YOU CUT YOUR HAIR!! I really love it! Such a fun change and you look younger and more gorgeous! I'm kind of tippy now. Secondly, you are Brodie are the most handsome couple. Seriously. Period. Third, I LOVED the pictures from around the world. It looked so fun and to end the day at the temple? What a perfect getaway. So proud you got to do it. You deserve it so freakin much after all these ridiculous hormones. I was just telling Tanis the other day what a darling mother you are and Andrea was adding with stories of just how amazing you are. You fulfill your role as wife, mother, sister to the fullest~ So happy for your getaway. Love you so much.

Hey Jess...that post about getting "shocks" made me laugh so hard....I love all those little things kids say! I really got a better look into all the words Brecken had wrong in her head when she started spelling, I would laugh so hard thinking all these years she thought I was saying "shocks" (or something similar to that) anyway your girls are adorable. That temple looks beautiful, every couple has got to get away once and a while. I'm so glad you did it...it looks like a blast and I like everyone else LOVE your haircut...so "refreshing" remember when that word described everything and we would use it every other word LOL LOL I still do I guess
